Scothern Nurseries Plant Centre is known as the ‘controller’ of personal data that we collect from you.

We hold and process information in relation to the nature of the business.

Why and how we collect personal information

• If you visit our plant centre in person we may collect personal data
• If you telephone our plant centre we may record personal data in relation to the call
• If you email our plant centre we may keep your email address and email as evidence of contact. We recommend that you keep any confidential information to a minimum as we cannot guarantee the security of any email contact initiated by you.

Most commonly we collect information as follows:-

Ordering Goods – When orders are made in person, by phone or by email, you will give us personal information necessary to process your order. This would include delivery address and payment card details.

Social Media –  Information may be given through the participation in discussion or through enquiries.

Registering – You will provide information when registering for a Scothern Nurseries Plant Centre Loyalty Card.

Email Data – Information is held securely on our email server. Email addresses of Loyalty Card holders are held securely on our mailing list for any future marketing contact.

Debit and Credit Card – In-store and telephone card payments are routed through Global Payments. Card details are not stored in local systems in- store. Administration staff can only view the last four digits of your card number. The remaining twelve are hidden so your full card details cannot be seen.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS – This is used to understand how our website is being used in order that the user experience may be improved. User data is all anonymous. CCTV – A CCTV system is installed in our plant centre for the protection of public and staff and also for the prevention and detection of crime. Signs are displayed to notify you of CCTV operation and who to contact for further information. Images will only ever be disclosed for the purposes above and will not be released on the internet. They will also not be kept for longer than necessary.

Your Rights

You are entitled to request access to and a copy of any personal data that we may hold about you. You have the right to withdraw your consent for us to use your personal data at any time.

You can request that we correct any personal information about you that you deem inaccurate and also delete personal information that we hold about you.
